Join the Transatlantic Academy! This seminar is designed for young adults—university students from a variety of disciplines—from the United States and the EU who wish to:
1. Deepen their understanding of democracy, political systems, global processes, and responses to worldwide crises.
2. Learn about autocratic regimes, civic responses, and resilience.
3. Explore human rights and conflict resolution.
4. Develop skills in (intercultural) communication.
Few topics are more urgent and relevant today, which is why we explore them together with experts and with the very generation that will shape the future. These young leaders are the decision-makers of tomorrow, and to prepare for this role, they need not only solid knowledge but also meaningful opportunities to voice their opinions, share ideas, and actively engage in open dialogue.
The seminar includes:
• Excursions to Strasbourg, Trier, and Saarbrücken, including visits to EU institutions, historical sites with guided tours, and an exploratory City-Rallye game.
• Interactive sessions on human rights, political regimes, resilience and civic engagement.
Formats:
Expert-led lectures (in English), interactive workshops, and enriching site visits and excursions in Germany and France enables participants to dive deep into topics including Germany’s historical legacy, its role in European integration, and the dynamics of Franco-German relations.
