Current developments in the world: The common challenges and opportunities for the EU and Mexico

Join our German-Mexico Program and learn about both countries, the EU and visit Strasbourg and Luxembourg!

Europe is more than the EU-27, the hell of bureaucracy and the EU institutions in Brussels ( - speaking of which, did you know that many of them are not located in this EU capital?  - ) as well as the EU member states have their own unique politics, history and culture that are interesting to explore!

And Mexico deserves our attention for much more than its border with the US, great food and Aztec history. With the world's 13th largest economy (in nominal GDP terms by 2024) and led by its first female president since last year, Mexico has a lot to offer.

At the end of the program, you will have the knowledge that goes far beyond what you hear in the media: from cultural and historical particularities to current political and economic relations. About different aspects of, for example, climate change, which may seem different in America and Europe at first glance, but which have a lot in common when you look deeper.

The program gives young Mexican and German students the opportunity to learn from each other, to share and discuss their perspectives and experiences, and to explore their similarities and differences through encounters and academic exchange.

The course covers the following topics:
- Current developments and challenges in the EU
- Security and the global role of the EU
- Borders and migration
- Climate and human rights and the right to water

offers interactive teaching methods such as escape game/simulation, workshops and artistic group work and visits to the institutions in Strasbourg and Luxembourg.

Seminar fee: 350,00 € for students from Germany (students of all nationalities with a regestered stay - postal address in Germany).
