The twelve is considered in the EU as a symbol of perfection, wholeness and completeness. There are twelve stars on the EU flag, twelve months in the year, twice twelve hours makes one day, the twelve apostles and so on. And this year the " European Summer Course" took place for the twelfth time at the European Academy Otzenhausen.

The seminar, subtitled "#NewVisions4theWorld", brought 39 participants, young enthusiastic students and scholars from all over the world, to learn more about the EU and its institutions, foreign policy and human rights, as well as to discuss challenges related to AI and data protection, energy supply in Europe and climate change. During the 10-day course, participants also visited the European Parliament and the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg, as well as Schengen, Trier and Saarbrücken.

We thank all participants for attending ESC 2023 and wish them not only all the best for their future, but also that they remain as enthusiastic and open-minded as they were during the week and a half at EAO.

Die Zwölf gilt in der EU als Symbol für Vollkommenheit, Ganzheit und Vollständigkeit. Es gibt zwölf Sterne auf der EU-Flagge, zwölf Monate im Jahr, zweimal zwölf Stunden ist ein Tage, die zwölf Apostel und so weiter. Und in diesem Jahr fand zum zwölften Mal der „ European Summer Course“ an der Europäischen Akademie Otzenhausen statt.

Das Seminar mit dem Untertitel „#NewVisions4theWorld“ brachte 39 Teilnehmer:innen, junge enthusiastische Student:innen und Wissenschaftler:innen aus der ganzen Welt, zu uns, um mehr über die EU und ihre Institutionen, Außenpolitik und Menschenrechte zu erfahren sowie die Herausforderungen im Zusammenhang mit KI und Datenschutz, Energieversorgung in Europa und Klimawandel zu diskutieren. Während des 10-tägigen Kurses besuchten die Teilnehmer:innen auch das Europäische Parlament und den Europarat in Straßburg, den Europäischen Gerichtshof in Luxemburg, sowie Schengen, Trier und Saarbrücken.

Wir danken allen Teilnehmer:innen für ihre Teilnahme am ESC 2023 und wünschen ihnen nicht nur alles Gute für ihre Zukunft, sondern auch, dass sie weiterhin so enthusiastisch und aufgeschlossen bleiben, wie sie es während der eineinhalb Wochen an der EAO waren.
