1. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE 

1.1 Check in and check out
Bedrooms can usually be occupied from the afternoon of the arrival day and should be vacated by 9.00 o'clock, in any case before the beginning of the seminar, on the departure day. Please remember to return your key to the Reception desk.

1.2 Parking
We ask you to park only in the designated car parks of the European Academy of Otzenhausen. Emergency exits, escape routes and access roads for suppliers must be kept clear.


2. BEHAVIOUR AT THE ACADEMY
 
We ask our guests to make sure that their behaviour will not disturb other guests or expose them to danger.

2.1 Use of the premises
We ask you to use our premises responsibly and to leave them in such a condition that our staff can clean them without having to tidy them up beforehand. Graffiti spraying and wall paintings are not allowed, neither within nor outside the buildings.

2.2 Drink consumption
You can buy drinks for your own requirements e.g. to have a drink at the barbecue in the evening or a bottle of water in your room etc. – at reasonable prices in our restaurant. Drinks can also be purchased in the Eurobistro or at the drink dispensers at the Academy.
We would like to draw your attention to the legal regulations in Germany and request young participants not to consume any alcohol between 09.00 and 18.00.
Please help us to separate empties and put deposit bottles (e.g. from the drink dispenser) into the plastic boxes at the Info Point and non returnable bottles in the containers behind Building A.

2.3 Smoking
Our buildings are non¬smoking areas. You are therefore requested not to smoke inside the premises.

2.4 Animals
We ask you not to bring any pets into the Academy.

2.5 Use of the equipment
We ask you to use the technical and sports equipment and the games properly and carefully. The Academy declines any responsibility (use at your own risk).

2.6 Using the internet
All rooms, halls and foyers are equipped to ensure a wireless internet access free of charge (WLAN b/g standard) at any time. We use WPA encryption for our WLAN network.
Furthermore an Internet Point for our guests is available. You will find there the guidelines and the directions for use of the Internet Point.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that it is not permitted to download any copyrighted and/or unlawful files. For safety reasons any use of the internet is recorded.

2.7 Regulations for fire prevention
Please note that the lighting of candles or open fires in the rooms or on the grounds is strictly forbidden. This also applies to lighting the barbecues yourself.
For safety reasons, our institution is equipped with a modern fire alarm system. Sensitive smoke and fire detectors are installed in all rooms and halls and will raise an alarm in case of fire. The fire brigades will be automatically notified of any alarm, including false ones. Anybody raising a false alarm, be it accidentally or on purpose, will be charged the costs (up to 1.500,¬€) in case fire engines and fire fighters are sent to a non¬existent “incident” in our House.

2.8 Quiet time in the Academy
Out of courtesy for the other guests, we request that you respect quiet time for sleeping from 22.00 and keep any noise to a minimum in your rooms, the halls and the entrance halls of the Buildings and on the grounds. Participants may use the Eurobistro and Room Luxembourg for informal meetings and parties before and in particular after 22.00.


3. RESPONSIBILITY
 
Please note:
If a participant causes demonstrable damage to the Academy's property, he/she and/or the contractual partner will be held responsible for the damage, including losses, sustained.
Cars are parked at their owners' risk. The Academy cannot be held responsible for any damages occurring in the car parks. This also applies to clothes, cash and any objects of value. Objects of value can be locked in the bedside table of all the bedrooms.


4. VIOLATION OF THE ACADEMY RULES

The Management Board of the Academy reserve the right to refuse entry to any person violating the Academy rules. They will give reasons for such action taken to any guest refused entry.
